Our Story

McAlisters is a fourth generation family farm.

Jonathan McAlister purchased the farm in 1921, but soon afterwards he married and needed someone to ‘hold the fort’ while he was away on honeymoon.

Stepping up to the plate to help his uncle out was Noel’s father - another Jonathan - and he never left the farm!

Jonathan (the second) eventually took over the apple farm, when Jonathan McAlister’s (Noel’s father) took sick. Noel then left school to take on the farm.

Today Noel and his sons John and Ben run a pristine successful 180 acre family apple business. The main focus has been growing and supplying packed Bramley apples to customers throughout Ireland and the UK.

In 2012 McAlisters expanded their storage to ULO (ultra low oxygen) and currently are able to store over 1500 tonnes of Bramley apples on the farm.

Since 2016 McAlisters have been pressing and bottling apple juice on the farm.
